Pick Your Role
Six teams. Each one matters. Here's what they actually do.

Construction
Help build and prepare the event space before START Summit, and tear it all down afterwards. You'll set up stages, arrange booths, move furniture, and ensure everything is ready for a seamless experience.

Driver
Provide transportation support for speakers, VIPs, and event materials. You'll handle airport and hotel pickups, ensure timely arrivals for sessions, and keep the logistics running smoothly.
Operations
Be the backbone of the event. Register attendees, distribute badges, answer questions at info points, manage inventory in the warehouse, and keep supplies flowing where they're needed.

Catering
Keep everyone fueled and energized throughout the summit. Manage coffee stations, coordinate catering logistics, and ensure food and drinks are stocked and served on time.

Event Support
Support the live event experience. Coordinate backstage logistics, manage speaker transitions, run the speaker lounge, handle wardrobe, and control access points throughout the venue.

Hack
Support the START Hack event running alongside the summit. Assist hackers with check-in, coordinate logistics, manage the hacking space, and help create an amazing hackathon experience.
Common Questions
The stuff people usually ask before applying.
We welcome students and young professionals. START Summit runs over two event days; some roles also involve separate setup and deconstruction days before and after. You should be available for both event days, plus any extra days your role requires. Different roles may have specific requirements - check the Pick Your Role section for details.
Click the "Apply Now" button to create your account and fill out a short registration form. You'll indicate your preferred roles and availability. We review applications and will get back to you within a week or two.
Time commitments vary by role. Construction and Deconstruction roles run on separate days before and after the summit (1-2 days each). On each of the two event days, event-day volunteers work one half-day shift, morning or afternoon, so two half-day shifts across the event; exact times are shown during registration. Team leads work full all-day shifts.
All volunteers receive a free ticket to START Summit with full access to sessions, workshops, and networking events. You'll also get exclusive volunteer merchandise and a certificate of participation.
We review applications based on availability, interest, and fit for specific roles. We prioritize applicants who can commit to the full time requirement. We'll work with you to find the best role match.
Yes! All volunteers receive role-specific training before the event, including information about START Summit, safety guidelines, and team-building sessions. Training dates will be communicated once you're selected.
